چکیده

Terahertz (THz) technology is rapidly evolving, and the advancement of data information processing devices essential. Silicon THz microresonators provide perfect platforms to develop compact integrated that could transform technology. Here we present a systematic study on key figure merit silicon disc - quality factor (Q-factor) in dependence substrate’s resistivity. Our results show Q-factor depends linearly resistivity variation from 10 k?cm 15 changes 50k 76k at 0.6 THz. Moreover, experimentally determine material absorption inversely proportional In general, presented methodology ideally suited precisely measure low-loss materials domain, which challenging using conventional spectroscopy.

Terahertz characterisation of building materials

To obtain realistic models for propagation channels in future picocellular indoor terahertz communication systems it is necessary to know the reflective properties of building materials found in a typical office environment. The angular dependent reflection coefficients of different building materials were determined using terahertz timedomain spectroscopy in transmission geometry and Fresnel’s...

Demystifying Material Parameters for Terahertz Electromagnetic Simulation

Two industry-standard electromagnetic modelling software packages, HFSSTM and CST Microwave Studio, are used extensively for modelling arbitrary THz structures. However, with both there are a number of practical issues that relate to how such commercially-available software can be used to give results that are meaningful and accurate. In this paper conventional air-filled metal-pipe rectangular...

Review of Anisotropic Terahertz Material Response

Anisotropy is ubiquitous in solids and enhanced in low-dimensional materials. In response to an electromagnetic wave, anisotropic absorptive and refractive properties result in dichroic and birefringent optical phenomena both in the linear and nonlinear optics regimes. Such material properties have led to a diverse array of useful polarization components in the visible and near-infrared, but ma...
